Purchasing
local foods and environmentally friendly products is widely recognized
as a responsible way to shop. But consumers often find it difficult
to go green due to higher cost; uncertainty about product effectiveness
and concerns about green authenticity. The Campo Urbano shop offers
the community an option to buy environmentally responsible products
while supporting a great program.
Campo Urbano's shop offers commonly used food
and household products that meet generally accepted sustainability
guidelines. We then try the products ourselves and rate each one for
its effectiveness. Members attend our weekly shopping event to share
in the cost savings and help reduce waste by using recycling containers
and shopping bags to take home their purchases.
At the Campo Urbano shop we pledge to:
To assist is verifying authenticity within the "green" movement
by providing a community portal for sharing information, knowledge
and experience in regards to locally available foods and sustainable
products.
Assist community members wanting to incorporate more sustainable
living practices into their lives by providing the tools, products
and reassurance for them to do so.
Grow the local economy and promote responsible conscious consumerism
within our community a Promote a new way of shopping that is local,
sustainable and genuine!
